Lots of good stuff going down this weekend. Check out some of these events to get your weekend fix.
Marin based Anne Cook has added her intricate earring pieces to our Noe Valley store. All the earrings are made from vintage jewelry and Mother of Pearl game pieces.
Made for the British aristocracy in Hong Kong during the 18th and 19th centuries, these beautifully crafted game pieces are delicate, one of a kind treasures. Many feature “lace-like” cut-outs and exquisite hairline engravings. Motifs include floral delicate lattice patterns and some fully illustrated scenes from daily life at the time of the Imperial Ching Dynasty. Both exotic and elegant, these pieces are fashioned from “Dinner Plate” mollusks, that have now been extinct for over 100 years.
Favorite homegrown label, Nopal Apparel women’s line is now being carried at Isso SF! Bearing fruit in the harshest climates, all of Nopal’s artwork is hand drawn by the designer himself. Taking inspiration from a wide spectrum of cultural icons, Nopal chooses to pay tribute to those who le echan ganas todos los da-as (give it their all every day).
We have in store some of Nopal’s most popular tshirts featuring musical legends and inspirations . Other special pieces include a collaborative project between Nopal Apparel and Nicacelly – wonderbelts!
There are still a few left…come in and get yours! Drink Cultura. Wear Nopal.

CITY ROOTS is a collaboration
between three local Bay Area bands ( BAYONICS,
MANICATO, KAPAKAHI ) along with SAMPLE THISS
PRODUCTIONS and DEEP CITY ROOTS as their promoters.
This collaboration was originally started to bring
back the essence and spirit of live music and creative
DJ’s that has become a rarity in the mainstream club
scene. It has also developed into a way in which
bands from across the state and possibly the nation
can show case their talents in the Bay Area. CITY
ROOTS is held on the first Friday of every month at ELRINCON (16th&Harrison) in the Mission District of San Francisco.
There’s no better way to start your weekend off proper than with some live reggae. The Native Elements band is sure to get you moving with their roots reggae sounds. Come out and get irie.
